What is your company’s mission statement/aims/objectives?
E Plan Energy’s mission is to deliver safe, high-quality heating and electrical services. We work in domestic and commercial environments. Our goal is to improve comfort, compliance, and operational performance. We support homeowners, landlords, housing providers, and commercial clients with reliable, resident- and client-focused services. We always maintain high standards of safety, quality, compliance, and customer care. Our aim is to be a trusted, long-term partner. We operate at scale but remain responsive and accountable.
Can you give us a brief history of your company?
E Plan Energy has grown steadily for over 12 years and built a strong reputation across the West Midlands and surrounding areas. The business began as a domestic heating specialist but now delivers a wider range of heating, electrical, mechanical and electrical (M&E) services to both residential and commercial clients. E Plan Energy has completed more than 100,000 domestic installations. The business also supports commercial properties, housing providers, and framework partners with compliant, well-managed programmes and responsive service.

What specific products or services does your company deliver through the DPS?
Through framework agreements, E Plan Energy delivers a range of domestic and commercial heating and electrical services, including boiler installations and replacements, central heating upgrades, electrical rewires and upgrades, inspections and testing, compliance works, responsive repairs, and planned programmes. Services are delivered in occupied homes, void properties, and commercial premises, in line with regulatory, safety, and contractual requirements.
Can you share some key achievements or successful projects?
Key achievements include the successful delivery of large-scale domestic heating replacement programmes, compliance-led electrical upgrades, fast-turnaround void works, and responsive maintenance services. Across both domestic and commercial projects, E Plan Energy has maintained strong right-first-time delivery, consistent programme performance, and positive feedback for professionalism, communication, and minimal disruption.

We will continue strengthening our capability to deliver safe, compliant domestic and commercial heating and electrical programmes, supporting clients as regulatory expectations and service demands evolve.
What are the biggest challenges currently facing the housing sector?
The housing sector faces challenges, including ageing housing stock, increasing compliance and safety requirements, funding pressures, and the need to deliver upgrades with minimal resident disruption. Balancing cost, quality, speed, and safety, while meeting regulatory obligations, remains a significant and ongoing challenge.
What are the biggest challenges currently facing your company and your supply chain partners?
Key challenges include labour availability, skills shortages, material supply fluctuations, and programme certainty. E Plan Energy addresses these through proactive planning, close collaboration with supply chain partners, investment in people, and flexible resource management to ensure continuity and quality of delivery.
Are there any recent innovations or developments in your business that excite you?
We have invested in digital job management, compliance tracking, reporting tools, and customer feedback systems, improving efficiency, transparency, and data accuracy. These developments strengthen governance, enhance client confidence, and support better outcomes for both residents and commercial stakeholders.
If you were Housing Minister for the day, what would you change?
We would prioritise long-term funding certainty, greater investment in skills and apprenticeships, and clearer, more aligned compliance frameworks. This would enable housing providers and contractors to plan effectively and deliver safe, sustainable improvements without unnecessary complexity or duplication.
