Pretium Frameworks Attends Building Compliance & Retrofit Summit 2025
Pretium Frameworks was represented by Business Development Manager Joe Taylor at the Building Compliance & Retrofit Summit 2025, held on 16 October at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre in Westminster. The event was co-hosted by LivGreen Retrofit Specialists, Firntec Building Compliance, and Ventro Fire Compliance.
The summit brought together professionals from fire safety, building compliance, and retrofit sectors to share insights, discuss challenges, and explore collaborative approaches to improving building performance. Speakers included representatives from the Building Safety Regulator and the Building Safety Alliance, alongside other sector experts.
Key themes emerging from the event included:
- Compliance clarity: Speakers emphasised that building compliance relies on understanding and applying the law with integrity. While the principles are clear, applying them consistently remains challenging.
- Competency and accountability: Effective delivery requires joint responsibility between clients and contractors, ensuring mutual accountability at every stage.
- Resident journey and retrofit: Janey Bray highlighted the importance of considering the resident experience during retrofit projects.
- Future standards and opportunities: Norseal outlined upcoming fire door standards for 2029, and discussions explored the potential of converting vacant office buildings into social housing.
