Scotland’s Housing Festival: round-up
Echelon Group CEO Mathew Baxter and Pretium’s Director of Frameworks Jessica John and Business Development Manager Joe Taylor recently attended CIH Scotland’s Housing Festival at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre.
This year’s festival featured a comprehensive programme addressing critical topics such as the housing emergency, sustainable ‘homes for life’, achieving net-zero goals, career development in housing, and strategies to prevent homelessness. Notably, former First Minister Nicola Sturgeon was among the distinguished speakers, sharing insights on the importance of housing in governmental priorities.
The festival provided a dynamic platform for collaboration, with roundtables, campfire-style sessions, and inspirational storytelling. Attendees engaged in debates, shared best practice, and connected with other professionals across the sector.
The team were also delighted to take part in a Lunch and Learn session facilitated by Bell Group, which explored the future of retrofit and decarbonisation in housing with discussions around funding, resident engagement and procurement.
